Professional Physiotherapy

The body's ability to heal is greater than anyone has permitted you to believe.

Musculoskeletal pain treatment
MUSCULOSKELETAL PAIN

Musculoskeletal pain arises from injury or dysfunction of muscles, tendons, joints, ligaments, nerves, or bones. These can stem from acute trauma, repetitive strain, posture issues, arthritis, overuse, or even unknown causes.

How can we help?
  • Pain relief by improving muscle and joint dysfunction, reducing inflammation and reducing the load on overactive structures.
  • Restore function by targeted strength, mobility and flexibility work.
  • Reduced risk of recurrence by impacting and possibly changing movement patterns.
  • Improved quality of life through comprehensive care.

"At Anna Physios, we take a holistic approach to musculoskeletal pain. Rather than simply treating symptoms, we focus on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of discomfort. Every person is unique, and so is every case of pain. Through a thorough evaluation and clinical assessment, we work to understand the root of the problem. We aim to guide your body back to optimal function so you can move well, feel well, and live well."

SPORTS INJURIES

Sports injuries can range from sprains and strains to ligament tears, tendinitis, and fractures. Many athletes also experience chronic strain injuries from poor biomechanics, muscle imbalances, or overtraining.

How can we help?
  • Injury Recovery: We guide you through each phase, from initial protection and healing, to rebuilding strength and mobility, and finally, sport-specific rehab to prevent re-injury.
  • Injury Prevention: Through biomechanical assessments, we identify imbalances, poor movement patterns, and mobility issues. Then we create a tailored program to reduce your risk of injury.
  • Performance Optimization: Whether you're training or competing, we help improve strength, movement efficiency, and sport-specific power and agility.

"Whether you're a weekend warrior or elite athlete, our expert physiotherapists provide personalised, hands-on care to get you back in action stronger and faster."

Post-operative rehabilitation
POST-OPERATIVE

After surgery, it's common to experience ongoing pain and swelling, stiffness, weakness, fear of movement or re-injury, difficulty with daily activities, and sometimes delayed healing. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation after surgery are crucial for ensuring a full and smooth recovery.

How Can We Help?
  • Muscle Strengthening and Function After surgery, your muscles might become weakened or stiff due to the body's natural response of protecting the injured area. We assist in rebuilding strength, flexibility, and endurance.
  • Pain Management by reducing discomfort caused by stiffness, inflammation, or muscular imbalances through targeted exercises and hands-on techniques that promote healing.
  • Restoring Healthy Movement Patterns. Surgery can change how you move. We retrain your body to restore natural movement, reduce compensation, and lower the risk of future injury.
  • Preventing Future injuries by correcting imbalances, improving posture, and strengthening key areas like the core, we help prevent long-term problems caused by poor alignment or weakness.

"Physiotherapy after surgery is essential not just for pain relief, but for restoring movement, rebuilding strength, and returning to your daily life with confidence. At Anna Physios we guide you on your journey to healing after surgery."

CHRONIC PAIN (NEUROSCIENCE)

Chronic pain lasts longer than three months and often persists beyond normal healing. It can be exhausting and frustrating, especially when traditional treatments provide limited relief. Understanding how pain works is key to managing and overcoming persistent pain.

How Can We Help?
  • Chronic Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) is a cutting-edge approach that explains the science of pain in simple, relatable terms. It helps you understand that chronic pain is not always a sign of tissue damage, but rather a result of the nervous system becoming overly sensitive. This means the brain and spinal cord can continue to send pain signals even after an injury has healed.
  • Reduced fear and anxiety around symptoms by learning how pain works and breaking the cycle of avoidance and inactivity.
  • Personalized physiotherapy and movement strategies that support improvements in function, mobility, and quality of life

"Knowledge is power and in the case of chronic pain, it can also be relief. If you're living with ongoing pain, talk to us at Anna Physios about how Pain Neuroscience Education can support your journey toward healing."

VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION

Vestibular conditions can arise from a dysfunction in the inner ear or its connection with the brain, leading to symptoms such as vertigo, dizziness, balance disorders, and visual disturbances. These issues can significantly impact daily activities.

How can we help?
  • Reduce sensitivity to motion and visual stimuli. Using gradual exposure techniques (habituation) to decrease dizziness and vertigo over time.
  • Balance retraining by improving stability during standing, walking, and everyday activities through exercises that challenge and strengthen your postural control.
  • Improve visual disturbances by using gaze stabilization exercises to help your eyes stay focused during head movements, reducing symptoms like blurred or bouncing vision.
  • Reduce fear of falling or movement. Build confidence through safe, progressive mobility training and education on fall prevention strategies.
  • Functional rehabilitation by supporting return to work, hobbies, and social life with tailored exercises that restore independence and daily function.

"Vestibular physiotherapy is a personalized approach designed to address your specific symptoms and challenges. By targeting balance, vision, and movement, we help you regain control and reduce dizziness. The goal is to make everyday activities feel easier and safer, so you can move with more confidence and enjoy life without constant dizziness."

Respiratory physiotherapy

RESPIRATORY PHYSIOTHERAPY

Respiratory physiotherapy focuses on helping people with lung and breathing conditions improve their respiratory function, manage symptoms, and maintain physical activity. It is highly beneficial for addressing a range of respiratory issues, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and cystic fibrosis, and is also effective for those recovering from surgery or experiencing breathing challenges.

How can we help?
  • Clear mucus from the lungs. Using hands-on techniques, breathing exercises, and mobilization strategies to help loosen and remove secretions, improving lung function and reducing the risk of infection.
  • Improve breathing efficiency, lung capacity, and oxygenation through breathing retraining, inspiratory muscle training, and posture correction to optimize how you breathe and enhance oxygen delivery to the body.
  • Enhance physical endurance by prescribing tailored exercise programs that safely build cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and tolerance to activity—improving stamina and reducing the impact of breathlessness on daily life.
  • Reduce breathlessness and fatigue by using pacing principles, energy conservation techniques, and education on effective rest positions to manage exertion.

"If you're living with a lung condition or struggling with breathlessness, pulmonary physiotherapy can help you move, breathe, and live with greater ease. At Anna Physios we help you toward better respiratory health and improved quality of life."
